Present role:

2002-present – Secretary General of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, the world’s largest association of municipal governments dedicated to sustainable development and environmental protection. Its membership comprises over 1,240 metropolises, cities, towns, counties and provinces in 70 countries. ICLEI works trough its headquarters on Bonn/Germany and 11 regional secretariats and country offices.

1987-1992 – Head of Environmental Management Division, City of Freiburg, Germany
